Finding The Best Scuba Diving Sites

When people visit tropical climes, scuba diving always seems to be high on the list of things to do. While it does not take long to learn, the places that you can go to can take a lifetime. It is best to learn how to dive as close to home as possible so as to ensure that you have as much time to enjoy diving when you arrive; it just does not make sense to waste time learning how to do something when you can get right to it when you arrive. Be advised that you will probably want to rent equipment on site; while the wetsuit can ship cheaply enough, the tanks and other equipment may be too expensive. Otherwise, finding scuba diving sites can be all sorts of fun in and of itself and well worth learning how.

The California Coast

Arguably a great place to start, the California Coast offers a wide variety of options, especially if the diver is also a surfer. What makes the California Coast a great spot is the combination of great areas as well as different scenery. Between the kelp forests and long beaches, there are a lot of places to explore. Better yet, if you also happen to be into surfing then you can dive during the morning and then surf in the afternoons, making for a great multi-purpose trip.

Southeast Asia

For those looking for something a little more exotic, Southeast Asia is well worth the trip. Besides the gorgeous scenery and tropical forests, there are a number of great scuba diving sites. While you probably want to avoid China and India due to the sheer number of people, other areas such as Phuket and Malaysia should definitely be on the list. Highlights include underwater ruins, incredible reefs, and even some of the most beautiful fish on the planet. It is also easy to find equipment for rent pretty much anywhere and it is relatively cheap.

Australia

The Land Down Under is definitely one of the best places for scuba diving on the planet. While the equipment can be a little expensive to rent, it is still cheaper than bringing your own. The beaches almost seem made for diving, with a wide variety of different areas available. The Great Reef is the mecca for divers, although it is advised that you keep an eye out for sharks and sea snakes. Nonetheless, with all of the different areas and ships and airplanes off the coast, it makes for an incredible place to visit.

There are all sorts of options for those looking for great scuba diving sites; all you need to do is decide what kind of diving that you are looking for and go for it. There is even some more exotic diving available; an interesting combination is diving and spelunking, where you must explore some pretty big caves to get to those underground lakes. Even the Middle East has some great spots if you know where to look; it is just a matter of deciding what you want and going for it.
